All watched over by machines of loving grace
Hahah I have been posting quite a lot these days!
It's meant to be a form of stress relief, I guess, from stuff like PT and the likes. Or maybe I just feel like pouring everything out somewhere where I don't care if people see it or not. Like my random icon shaped pictures. Example on the right.
I don't care if people see this!
I don't care if they care!
I just feel like typing it out to ... something! Something that won't refute me! I'm tired of weird random answers whenever I try telling people about myself. Or something related. Or, say, music. Many people aren't interested/don't want to know. Which makes me feel like I'm talking to a piece of wood or something.
I just want to talk about something I'm interested in. And not, say, something that people are telling me about and I don't understand what they are talking about at all. Which is probably how they feel when I talk to them about music, so in order to not make both myself and whoever I'm talking to feel bad, I'm going to type it all on my blog. And I don't care if anyone's interested, I am, so it doesn't matter. It's not really meant for anyone in particular to see, really.
Sometimes I just want to say stuff out where people don't see it. Which is really restricting cos then I'll need to privatize my blog and I don't want to cos then it'll be evil of me ): Until then I'll just stop myself from doing that and write everything in my notebooks.
I don't want to care anymore.
Suddenly I think of random poems. By Richard Brautigan, no less.
Like,
Karma Repair Kit: Items 1-4
1. Get enough food to eat,
and eat it.
2. Find a place to sleep where it is quiet,
and sleep there.
3. Reduce intellectual activity and emotional noise
until you arrive at the silence of yourself,
and listen to it.
4.
Yeah, four is a blank.
All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace
I like to think (and
the sooner the better!)
of a cybernetic meadow
where mammals and computers
live together in mutually
programming harmony
like pure water
touching clear sky.
I like to think
(right now please!)
of a cybernetic forest
filled with pines and electronics
where deer stroll peacefully
past computers
as if they were flowers
with spinning blossoms.
I like to think
(it has to be!)
of a cybernetic ecology
where we are free of our labors
and joined back to nature,
returned to our mammal
brothers and sisters,
and all watched over
by machines of loving grace.
It's such a beautiful poem. I mean, the imagery is really awesome. In a "cybernetic ecology", machines will be our guardians. Rather interesting, don't you think?
Also it uses images of both nature and technology! Which is really bizarre cos normally most clichés are about how they conflict. In fact, the speaker in this poem seems sort of eager for this to happen. It's a special viewpoint, no?
You know what? I don't care if you don't care.
I really don't. It doesn't matter anymore. I know you know who you are.
Stop putting me down cos it's really irritating. I can't stand it anymore.

What dreams may come.

Post hundred!
Here, I shall post Image34 here!
It is awesome. :D
I am happy. My blister is healing. You can hardly see it anymore.
My piano teacher won't kill me then. :D
Also, I have
finally finished my model for Chem PT! Now only the paperwork is left -- that's the last bit. Nevertheless, I really hate this PT.
The model looks like a jellyfish that's about to fall apart.
I need to continue packing my bag for Camp STEEL. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it. D: Good luck, not bad, that is.

Imageshack!
Second post of the day!
Hundred and seventy new images on my imageshack account! Now I have 188 images on it, hahah.
Ohno, I hope my account doesn't die. Never mind, I kind of privatized those 170 pictures (well, kind of personal you know). My favourite is still image34. I really love it. It is an awesome picture I swear. Micki looks so awesome in it. And... 45 is the first black and white one with Debbi I posted... last week, I think. It's nice too!
They are awesome.
You know, I keep on sort of "relating" to Glitter Years.
I randomly think in my head
getting stoned, when it totally doesn't fit the situation at hand! In any way, at all!
Like, "You're all out there doing random stuff, and I'm getting stoned!"
Come on, that doesn't even make
sense.
The television is showing some random Chinese documentary-ish-but-not-really-a-documentary sort of show! It's about anorexia, and I suddenly think about Karen Carpenter. D:
That is so sad.
I LOVE IMAGE34 IT IS REALLY AWESOME!
Really.
Screw it what to wear on Monday.
What to pack for Camp STEEL.
What to do now.
"You better hang on to yourself".
Oh no, the bass for "If She Knew What She Wants" is playing through my head. D:
I think I won't be able to get it out for the rest of today/tonight.

That is you to they
Man.
All of a sudden, I feel really really tired. And sick of life. Of everything, in general.
Don't you just hate it when something awesome happens, something
finally right, then one word brings it all crashing down? When life really has nothing better to do than kick you in the face? And then this wave of depression and anxiety just kind of washes over you and you're just being carried along by the flow but not doing anything. When you're down and out no one gives you anything but when you're way up there everyone's just rushing to give you stuff. Ironical, but that's how it is.
I feel insignificant. Like a piece of debris carried out to sea by the wave. Like I don't matter anywhere. Okay, I know maybe it isn't true, but I just feel that way. So sue me.
... I really don't know! I suddenly start thinking of... bass tabs! While I'm hearing a song! So it goes like;
If she D (knew) what she wants, he'd be G (giv) -ing it A (to) her. And et cetera.
Which is really funny cos I keep on repeating it over in my head. Bass is really like an instrument you play like a guitar, but it's actually percussion that plays notes. Everytime I listen to any song I always turn on bass boost! So I always make it a point to notice that the bass always coincides with the drum beats and it's very on-beat. I want to learn bass! It is way cool.
And strangely I always find myself reverting to, say, Sandy Denny on YouTube. Like I try to find more songs, but I somehow ended up with
Northstar Grassman and the Ravens. No, it's not that I don't like it, in fact I quite do (but Michael's version is more unpolished -- which is awesome, really, her voice somehow fits it more, I think) , but it's just
strange. I can go from New Wave to, say, Classical! It's just really strange. Nevermind, I like Sandy Denny anyway.
I have a lot of projects to do. This really really sucks.
Chem PT. D: Now you see why I think life sucks.
Bye.

All that you stood for is gone.
GUESS WHAT! (Okay you know right, so I shan't elaborate. :D)
Okay, I forgot to say this yesterday, so I shall say it now! We kind of determined that my bag weighs 5.7kg! Which is more than double of Claudia's 2.5kg bag. 8D
I am happy! Nevertheless, that should not stand in the way of an emo (I think) post. Just because I feel like posting more song lyrics.
Denny was working it real hard,
Down Sunset Boulevard
Back in nineteen seventy-three
Why would he bother going home,
His parents left him on his own
Who knows, maybe they were out getting stoned
I don't really know how we survived the glitter years
What did we do it all for?
Do you remember the glitter years?
We were the lost and lonely ones,
We hid in the discotheques all night long
Til we could see the morning sun
Denny was king he rocked the place
Dressed like a working girl from outer space
He was dancing like he wanted to dance his life away
I don't really know how we survived the glitter years
What did we do it all for?
Do you remember the glitter years?
In December of 'seventy four,
Denny wrecked his father's car
Driving home that night he was singing:
"You better hang on to yourself"
I like the David Bowie impersonation, hah. It sounds awesome, really.
I am tired. Plain tired. But happy anyway(: Okayokay nevermind it doesn't matter.
I am listening to Glitter Years, Complicated Girl, Following, September Gurls, and Between The Two over and over again. It's got that kind of quality that never makes you sick of it. :D Which is awesome. Also I'm adding in the occasional Manic Monday and Be With You.
Between The Two and Following are just plain catchy. They're acoustic. Following is like, really haunting. Between The Two has this you-can-dance-to beat. Which makes it end very nicely/weirdly/strangely. Okay, you get the idea. And I've been listening to Be With You ever since I heard it, so it's kind of like I can't ever get sick of it. Which is awesome.
Okay maybe I should get off blogging about the songs I listen to. But I can't help it!(: Maybe I should try to, um, restrict myself.
Back to school!
SLI WAS AWESOME. Okay you know why. If you don't, it's okay, you don't need to. It was like, epicly hilarious. Mr Lau was doing this act thing with the House Captains, and if you know them, well, I don't think I need to describe further. OH AND AT ASSEMBLY I SAW ONE OF THE GB GUARD-OF-HONOUR ACTUALLY DO THE PLEDGE-THING (oops I can't remember the command :P) INSTEAD OF HOMAD! Then she lucky realize already faster change. Funny nevertheless.
Anyway, we invited some other school students over. Which included RI, Hwa Chong, and of
course RI(JC) people! When I went to school in the morning some RI/Hwa Chong guys were standing around outside the main gate looking really uncomfortable. Ker Rui, Yan Tong, and I had a good laugh about it later(: Then when we did school song and Raffles Cheers at the end they just stood in a corner looking really... spare. Cos even all the RI(JC) students who came back did cheers and sang the school song with us too.
Right at the end we did Dedication. Nostalgia alert! Reminded me of the time we did it during Affirmation.
It was. Hilarious. And not at all qualitative. Entertainment. Quote, "it was okay lah, abit weird but lovable". Ahem,
lovable is kind of a weird word to describe today's, um, session, so I shall use the phrase "somewhat interesting". There.
I hope you got that kind-of reference.
Now I have 170 icon-shaped-but-not-icon-sized pictures! Awesome.
I post one(:
It's the one in "Hazy Shade of Winter" where Micki has, I quote, a "Joan Jett hairstyle"! Which refers mostly to the few bits of hair sticking out on top, I guess.
Also there's this scene in "Manic Monday" (near 2:27) where Micki looks like a
certain someone, but I think it must be cos of the video warp and the eyebrows (ahemahem). No, it's probably not who you're thinking of. There, all clear.
TGIF huh.

Here where it all comes back now.
Hello.
The reason I am up so later tonight is because I am attempting to back up my computer. It's taking nine CDs, two hours so far (and counting). I am screwed. Way, way, screwed.
Also, I burnt (cooked?) my fingers in Chem. I feel really stupid now. D: I touched the test tube when it was hot. Then I burnt my hand. Then I dropped the test tube. Then it smashed on the floor. Then Mr Lau told me not to move. Then my hand died there and then. Then Mr Lau came and swept up the glass bits on the floor.
Then, FINALLY, I got to go to the sink and kept my fingers under running water. Finally.
I mean, isn't that just awesome? I had painful blisters and couldn't type with those three fingers for the next hour. Which is terrible cos I had Infocomm. And that totally screwed me up cos typing with one hand is painfully tedious and typing with the last two fingers of my left hand just doesn't seem right.
Backing up the hard drive really sucks.
I will need at least fifteen CDs. What a waste.
I think I will sleep at like 1am today.
Might as well try to do it faster. URGE THE COMPUTER ON JIAYOUJIAYOU.
Bye.

Hey, you better listen
WHOO GUESS WHAT I GOT INTO SCRABBLE!!
:D Aweshum stuff.
Now I have onehundredsixty-something pictures to iconise!
Because I'm feeling really random today, :D, I shall have a short post.
Partially because "The Rape of Nanking" is a really good book too. Appallingly good read, and I mean appallingly. Shocking stuff. Literally.
I'm also working on my History! "PERCIVALWASBORNINABIN" is the name of the file! You see we're anti-Percival.
SINGAPORE COULD HAVE WON YOU KNOW D:
Evil guy, Percival. Okay, more like stupid.
Whatever bye.

Three Plus One.
Oh my I haven't posted in a long long long time.
I've been busy watching DVDs from the library and reading *ahemahem* forum posts about *ahemahem*.
And trying to reduce all my weird sized square pics to 100x100! Seriously, anyway, how do you change a 421x421 picture to 100x100? I've got awesome pictures of Michael Steele. Like, REALLY awesome ones, all taken by her fans. When she was still performing live. And the forum has like 154 pages and I've about fiftytwo pages to go. Which is really a lot. And listening to her Crash Wisdom music as well, although I preferred her Bangles style, but hey! Better than nothing, right? And page eightyfour has SUPERB pictures made into wallpapers. It's good to know I'm not the only crazy Micki fan. Whoo. I resist the urge to post one of them here. Okay maybe I should. There.
[Edit: ]
Now I have fortysix awesome and amazing pictures to iconize and compress. Okay, so two of them aren't square, cos they look better as they are. And one of the fortyfour left includes Debbi. [Edit: There, it's the one to the left.] Like it was an image taken in a mirror. The one on the... left is Debbi. And the one on the right is Micki. (As in, in the picture! Cos it's a mirror image, so it's actually the reverse.) I think this picture was taken in the 80's. So that leaves fortythree actual Micki-only
square pictures.
And listening to [not so] random songs! There, you probably won't what they are, so I shan't list them and waste my time, no? I'm tiredddddd. Very tireddddddd.
I need a good book. Like non-fiction. Uhm. I think I'll go to the school library when I have time cos I found this awesome History book there about WWII, mainly about the Rape of Nanking. And that's its title too. I
just realized that we can finally borrow books from the library.
I have the entire three-in-one shebang (sore throat and cough and flu) plus a bite-sized headache for toppings too. I mean, isn't that just
awesome.
RP has so many funny posts! Here, I quote one:
Hey Mick,
So you know that bass i borrowed from you to play for my gig with John Crooke?...
Why'd ya give me the crappy bass??!!!!!!
Dear Vick,
I know how uninhibited you get whenever you play with John Crooke.
I figured if I give you the crap bass, then it won't matter when you jump up and down on it and set it on fire at the end of the show, like you did last time (you animal).
Regards,
Mick
I totally laughed my head off at that one. In case you didn't notice/realize/know, the "Vick" person would be Vicki Peterson. I can so imagine that conversation taking place in real life. That one was in '03. Which was seven years ago. Before she quit. That is sad. D:
My sore throat really really hurts. Ow.
Also, I was debating with myself about the death sentence. And I somehow introduced to myself the idea of human rights. And it somehow became a debate about human rights. Like so.
If someone kills someone else, they are invading the dead person's human rights because the dead person should have a right to choose if they want to die.
So, if you pass the death sentence on someone else, you are also killing the person without giving him/her the choice and his/her right to live.
Who gives the judge and jury the right to trespass on other's human rights then? If that is the case, then the judge and jury are murderers and they should be sentenced to death too. But who will have that authority to do that and say that they are not trespassing on their human rights?
See? The thing about human rights is so screwed. Talking about screwed, I think I screwed up my Scrabble trial thing. I can't believe I missed one of the bingos. D: But hey the others weren't that bad I guess.
Okay think this is a long enough post to make up for the nine days?
I hope it is, well, and hope you're happy with it cos I DON'T INTEND TO TYPE MORE. HAH.

Taking words for granted
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASH(LYNNA)!!
Be a nice Prefect and don't book us(: Okay just kidding.
This is just going to be a short dedication/birthday post.
I suddenly feel like posting song lyrics.
So, in a rare fit of impulse, I shall!
(M. Steele)
Michael
You think I'm crazy or something
Always following you around
You say I'm a hopeless case
Run an obsession into the ground
You call me a loser
You call me a shadowing fool
Look over your shoulder
And you say I'm haunting you
So why do you call me
Why do you look for me
Why do your eyes follow me the way they do
You hold me responsible
Yeah, so I stand accused
Of causing all the trouble
After high school
Between him and you
You call me a loser
You call me a shadowing fool
But I was a good girl
Yeah, 'til you taught me
What it means to be true
Why do you call me
I know you look for me
Why do your eyes follow me the way they do
Whee that's such a haunting song. Michael has an awesome voice. WHY DIDN'T SHE DO MORE LEADS.
Ahwells anyway now that's too late.
Another one! this time by Debbi(:
(D. Peterson/W. Igleheart)
Debbi
Out my window
The rain starts to fall
And the wind blows
Through an empty hall
In the mirror
Reflections of you
In the distance I hear a sound
Is that you coming around
Oh, what you gonna do
I think I should be with you
A love that's overdue
Oh I think I should be with you
Thought I saw you
In a stranger's face
Should I call you
Or should I walk away
'Round the corner
Is around the world
Is that you looking at me
Or am I living a dream
Oh, what you gonna do
I think I should be with you
A love that's overdue
Oh I think I should be with you
And when I'm lost in a dream
You are all I can see
All alone in the night I'm waiting for you
Every moment I'd die
Just to look in your eyes
The dream is alive, I'm waiting
Oh my, how I try
To make you see that
I should be with you
In the distance I hear a sound
Is that you coming around
Oh, what you gonna do
I think I should be with you
A love that's overdue
Oh I think I should be with you
Oh I think I should be with you
Oh I think I should be with you
Whee.
BASSISTS AND DRUMMERS ARE WAY UNDERRATED WTF.
Even Yen Siang agrees. Especially bassists.
How many people actually prefer bass to treble?
Other than the people who play bass lines themselves and weird people like me who just like the bass lines.
And the drums. But drummers aren't as underrated!
Take for example, I can find songs like Be With You by Debbi. Who is the drummer. And Live. Also by Debbi. But I can't find her greatest songs like Following (Michael) and Between the Two (also Michael). In fact, the only one of her songs I have is September Gurls. And the verse she sings on Walk Like and Egyptian. And maybe her version of Banks of Nile. And Complicated Girl's on YouTube, too.
Whatever I really need to chiong stuff now.
Bye.

Run, run, runaway.
Waow post 92.
All I wanted to say this post is;
I CAN'T BELIEVE AT LEAST ONE OF THE CHINESE RS PROPOSALS ACTUALLY APPEALED TO ME!! :O
Well, understandable, since it was the one about the 武侠小说. Yeah you get my point, right?
I find it really retarded that people can recognize 射雕英雄传 but hardly anyone even knows that 碧血剑 even exists. I think my sister hasn't even heard of it D:
Which is really sad since 碧血剑 is like my favourite story!
It is way way way underrated.
Just like drummers and bassists. But more for bassists than drummers.
It's mostly the people who play the bass who actually take note of the bass lines.
BASS LINES ARE SO PRETTY WHEE. I love turning up bass boost on my phone :D
WHEE CHOCOLATE I AM HIGH BYE(:

Too tired to let go and lie back
WHEE.
I AM HIGH ON PEANUT BUTTER :D
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASLYN :D
Our awesome staff! AB4 loves you(:
Hahah I wouldn't say for sure though :P Kidding!
My tagboard is dead. Someone revive it.
(Rachel; Um, I'm not quiet. I'm just really -rollseyes- sort of person. Who doesn't get involved until 1)It's something really important 2) I FEEL STRONGLY ABOUT IT D: 3) I'm just trying to get involved.)
It was PT today. 3 sets, 5 rounds. As you can guess, I'm horribly unfit. I almost died during the last round but heck ah nevermind. But I think if I started walking then maybe I could have completed it after all! Sets are fun(: I just hope we can do steps next time. I LOVE STEPS WHEE THEY ARE SO FUN :D
The Part As came! There were only four of them -.- Which was
rather pathetic nevertheless but strike that!
Sarah Wee (109) calls Adam Lambert "the guy who masturbates onstage". That is. Disturbing.
I am tired. And hungry. I CRAVE CHOCOLATE D:
... Somehow or other the D: looks better than the :D. Wow. I'm so bored I'm actually comparing the smiley faces.
I want to create a FB group. It'll be called "I LOVE MY CCA, BUT I HATE CCA TRAININGS." Which is so apt. Or, as Shasha puts it, maybe "BEFORE CCA: I LOVE MY CCA! DURING CCA: UGH I HATE MY CCA D: AFTER CCA: MY CCA IS SO AWESOME!" Epic fail.
I DON'T WANT CAMP STEEL AHHHHHHHH >< I'll miss Infocomm.

HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY BECKYYYY.
But you knew that. :D
RS PROPOSAL D:
At least I've done my part of the questions!
TAMISHA AND ALLISON WHERE ARE YOU
GUYS PEOPLE.
You call me a loser
You call me a shadowing fool
Look over your shoulder
And you say I'm haunting you
So why do you call me
Why do you look for me
Why do your eyes follow me the way they do

Apologies -- Unaccepted.
SIGH.
I'm so sorry I didn't blog for like, two weeks?! Anyway, TGIF.
I'M SORRY I'M SO SORRY :P
The reason is because I have so much stuff to do. Like RS proposal, for instance.
Talking about RS, I'm doing a Literary one with Tamisha and Allison and Bella from 211.
Ugh, I've been assigned questions 2, 4 and 6i. And I'm done with all except for 4, but 2 and 6i need some confirmation/editing.
Chemistry is fun. It is hilarious how epic Mr Lau is. We crystallized Copper(II) Sulfate today. I think I accidentally added too much water to ours, so it isn't saturated. :P
Philosophy with Ms Chan is interesting. We did our COI FA (Something about employers getting online information on potential employees and asking for their facebook/youtube/google/yahoo/livejournal/twitter/etc. usernames and passwords while the potential employees will give up their rights to sue the employers should any of their information be abused. Which is just. Unreasonable.) and it was epic. Really.
My sister is back from OBS!
They went kayaking I'm jealous. D:
I am infinitely happy over the fact that ________ :D (GUESS WHAT.)
On the other hand, I am displeased that NCCLand actually has more Part As than us! It's so unfair I think we only have 5 or 6? And they have about 15.
Nevertheless, I will be an evil senior and dao the Part As. Or when I'm looking in their direction I'll either give them a weird look, or death glare them. Rui Tong will just dao them. :/ Aren't we such nice seniors.
On the other hand, Huey Fang and Dewi will probably smile at them/give them a weird look when they see them (unlike _______).
I feel like kicking myself. Hard. On the face.
Bet you know why.
