You know, the other day I was saying to myself 'screw this, I'm just going to do it' and not I don't actually want to do anything. _______ ______ would not approve. I notice that's actually my motivation for most things, and NO IT'S PROBABLY NOT WHAT YOU'RE THINKING OF.
OMG I SUDDENLY REMEMBER THE OTHER DAY WE WERE PLAYING MARIO KART AT MY HOUSE. Hui Min and Ka Ying always end up 11 and 12 and then I'm like always first. And Allison is like desperately trying to overtake me but fails miserably. Lesson learnt: Always play with a nunchuk. RAVING RABBIDS TV PARTY IS SO DAMN FUN <3.
And okay, I just read your blog post kaiyan and what can I say, I TOTALLY AGREE. They're putting way too much emphasis on winning and even I though I didn't help you guys (sorry about that!) I am annoyed at them too. I mean, the props were okay. They could do with a bit of touching up but all in all they were OKAY. You know what, the previous brick wall thing actually looked better than the new one because the whole point of making a new one was to make it seem REALISTIC. Tell me how multi-coloured bricks look realistic, hmm? You know I think the whole point of drama night is not supposed to be about freaking winning but instead doing it as a class, but everyone was like 'oh look drama night is a competition and no one cares for ACP anyway' but so what if it's a competition and ACP isn't? Heck, it doesn't matter, because we should be putting the same amount of effort in both, NOT JUST THE ONE THAT IS THE CONMPETITION. There are a hell of more imporatant things.
Just forget it already, okay?
Oh, and playing Twister with a bunch of other people and trying not to fall all over each other while being in convoluted positions is actually surprisingly fun. We were all screaming like STOP LEANING ON ME or STOP SITTING ON MY FOOT and shouting at people like Tze En to NOT TAKE PHOTOS. Yup, that about sums it up.

But in our hearts of hearts we knew
Okay yes I haven't been posting for a long long time because there's really nothing to. And to think that at this time last year I was posting for almost everyday.
Oh yes, a quote from xiaoyun.
"I think we are the two most awkward people in the platoon." from when we were walking back to class after passing Jermaine the orienteering stuff. You know instead of going in to pass the stuff to her we hung around outside her class for five minutes before she came out and saw us, heh. That also reminds me of the time we passed ATC money to Nadra (in coins, $10.50 in coins is quite heavy). And now I am also going for FDC because no one else wants to, yes?
I've also been playing RuneScape (I know, of all things?) because I have nothing better to do. And the stuff in there respawns, which is too cool. Ah well.

The sacred young herd on the phosphorus sand
Alert, random music-y post.
I found something [that I have been looking for for a long time, so yay] that possibly does not concern/interest anyone other than me. So yup, ignore this if needed.
The Long Black Veil
Lefty Frizzell (I just love the guy's name, it is too epic.)
[C]Ten years ago on a cold dark night
There was [G7]someone killed 'neath the [F]town hall [C]light
There were few at the scene, but they all agree
That the [G7]slayer who ran looked a [F]lot like [C]me
The judge said "Son what is your alibi,
If you were [G7]somewhere else then [F]you won't have to [C]die"
I spoke not a word though it meant my life
For I had [G7]been in the arms of my [F]best friend's [C]wife
She [F]walks these [C]hills
In a [F]long black [C]veil
She [F]visits my [C]grave
When the [F]night winds [C]wail
Nobody knows, [F]nobody [C]sees,
[F]Nobody [G7]knows but [C]me
The [C]scaffold's high and eternity near
She [G7]stood in the crowd and [F]shed not a [C]tear
But [C]sometimes at night when the cold wind blows
In a [G7]long black veil she [F]cries o'er my [C]bones
She [F]walks these [C]hills
In a [F]long black [C]veil
She [F]visits my [C]grave
When the [F]night winds [C]wail
Nobody knows, [F]nobody [C]sees,
[F]Nobody [G7]knows but [C]me
[F]Nobody [G7]knows but [C]me
[F]Nobody [G7]knows but [C]me
I also realized Banks of Nile has a weird Bm7 chord in the middle of nowhere but apparently it can be played without the barre.
I know I promised to type out a blog post about about orienteering. But I didn't do it yesterday because I was tired. Anyways.
Orienteering was fun/epic/hilarious/tiring. WE GOT SECOND I AM SO PROUD OF YOU GUYS (AB4 orienteering team) :D. I'm high on that WE DID IT WE DIDN'T DIE feeling you should know what I mean! Oh and thanks to those people who wished us good luck and everything (however that just served to make me even more nervous, but it's just me I guess). I changed in class instead of 212 and attempted to remember how to put on my uniform and panicked with Louise (the freeloader tsk) and Yi Xuan.
Went down to find platoonmates and then we went canteen. THEN WE REALIZED THERE WAS A MISCOMMUNICATION AND THE BUS ALREADY LEFT AT 11.20 WHICH IS o_o. And then we waited for the bus and silently panicked.
Reached HQ and got split from the reserve, meh. Screw my flu. And then theory test was weird because they asked the question about mils and THANK GODS I STUDIED ABOUT IT. Then we had some weird briefing thing then map checking (we are awesome at finding stuff on the map!) THEN THE ACTUAL THING ITSELF. We ran a lot and crashed through grass that was super high and lallang that was taller than SHERMAINE. And *ahemahemyouknowwhoyouare* fell face first a few times. Oh yeah then while we making our way to the fenced area some random guys team told us to RELAX and SLOW DOWN and then we just sped off past them and Shermaine shouted SHUT UP to them as she passed LOL.
Then back to end point that time too tired cannot run the whole way, I think we just brisked walked like most of the time because we all had blisters. And then last part Shermaine and I were like 'screw the blisters, I'm going to run' then we just dashed to the finish line. And we made it in 33 minutes which is apparently quite good and WE WERE FASTER THAN THE LANDERS. Michelle collapsed at the end and then I felt like dying too and we slacked around on the grass because we were that tired that we didn't want to move.
Waited for two hours for the results, then we became so bored/random. A few people slept and I went to fold a lot of paper butterflies. AND OMG QUEK RUITONG I WASN'T THE ONE WHO KEPT THROWING IT AT YOU. IT WAS SHERMAINE. REALLY.
Results was very cool! We were like sitting there and then figured that we're the only girls unit in Air district so if they say AIR DISTRICT that means we got it. And then the emcee was like SECOND PLACE, FROM AIR DISTRICT... and then that was all I heard because I was that happy OMG. And then Xiao Yun actually wanted us to get first and get the shield for the school. Michelle says the school can look at 'shield volcanoes' instead. That's very academic-ish.

Quoth the raven, "Nevermore".
Yup okay just drew this on millionmasterpiece. Line art, but it looks kind of sloppy because of the transparency issues. So there you have it.
Hey, I seriously want to see this guy's Moltres attempt to outstall my Clefable, which as any in UU will know, is the ultimate staller. And then this person getting totally murdered by my Golduck with +3 SpA due to Calm Mind, ho. Sceptile vs Clefable with Ice Beam + Calm Mind = MURDER.
And the day before yesterday! Was fun!
Yen Siang's house has a (very cool) karaoke room with red soundproof curtains, which is very good considering the fact that we were singing very terribly. Did I also mention that Louise and I picked random songs like These Boots Were Made For Waldin' [sic] and Mrs. Robinson (by Simon and Garfunk) and Claire, which is the ultimate pedo song. And yes, we picked the ABBA and Carpenters songs too. And also we had a barbeque at her house and the beef was goooooood (say it so that it rhymes with moooooo). In the end Ka Ying, Louise and I ended up making our own chicken wings, which is quite amusing. And they were quite nicely done too.
Ugh my arms are STILL aching from playing the Wii. Fun, but tiring nevertheless. Quote, "YOUR TV IS SHRINKING." and "THE SCREEN IS MOVING UP." That's what you get from playing Raving Rabbids: TV Party for too long. Whoops.

I believe in angels Something good in everything I see
"Oh, yes."
"Hmm?" she questioned, her mind on other matters.
He turned to her. "You never finished the story."
Grinning cheekily, she replied, "The story never ends."
No, that is not a excerpt. No matter what anyone may think. I just typed it out... randomly. After all, don't people do that all the time? Maybe I'll find a way to fit it in. Somewhere.
I love how 'expired' is a euphemism for 'died'.
Also, some pictures are very beautiful in the sense that the colours and shapes bring out the mood of the piece just perfectly and you feel what the artist wants you to. (Gosh why am I so random!)

And what else may we do? We don't say, goodbye
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear
Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near
Someday you'll say that word and I will cry
It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
'Till we meet again...
Until then...
Goodbye
Immortality and Goodbye's (the saddest word), Celine Dion.
You know how I revise (and hey it works)! I listen to a particular piece of music. Say, the sound track for Lost Woods from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and then I revise while playing it on loop. And then my brain automatically links it to what I'm studying. So spent the entire Lit exam humming Lost Woods under my breath and it's such a... brain-sticker (hahah).
Also! When I grow older and have my own credit card (which is going to be a really long time sigh) I'm going to order clay from overseas and buy a small kiln and make things! Like... ocarinas. Even though they're actually cheaper to buy than to make, so it seems. But you never know! And apparently a lot of ocarinas out there aren't all that good, so yeah! I want to make my own. ):
I realize I've been searching a lot of random stuff recently. Like how to pick locks, and make ocarinas and whistles. And Legend of Zelda music scores. And, uh, you know what I mean. Stuff like that.
Gosh I never knew Siobhan Maher was married to Dave Snell. And, uh, seriously, she married Ray Kennedy?
And also, I realized a lot of the stuff I listen to are related in the strangest of ways. Like... Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. And I noticed everyone in the eighties knows each other either directly or not, which is quite amusing. So now we can totally play Six (well, maybe not six, but you know what I mean) Degrees of Separation! Like, um, Pal Shazar and The Everly Brothers! Pal Shazar -> Slow Children -> Michael Steele -> The Bangles -> Manic Monday -> Prince -> The Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame -> The Everly Brothers.
Or Pal Shazar -> Slow Children -> Michael Steele -> The Bangles -> Walking Down Your Street -> Little Richard -> The Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame (23 January 1986) -> The Everly Brothers.
AND OHGOSH I JUST LOOKED THROUGH THE LIST OF THE ROCK'N'ROLL HALL OF FAME AGAIN AND DICK CLARK AND LEO FENDER ARE LISTED :O
And Prince's son would have been one day younger than me had he lived. :/
And gosh Prince played electric guitar on Like A Prayer?
Ohgosh, I just heard that Tony Peluso died on the 5th of June this year. Goodbye to one of the best guitarists the world has ever seen.
And Karen Carpenter.
And George Harrison.
And... you know what I mean, I can't be bothered to list anymore.
Our hearts were filled with music and laughter,
Your voice will be the sweetest sound I'll ever hear and yet,
We knew somehow the song would never end,
When time was all we had to spend
- When Time Was All We Had, the Capenters
Okay stop all that stuff about sad and unhappy things!
You told me goodbye and I believed you
Felt like I would die - I didn't need to
'Cos you came back to me
And everything's like it used to be
All the good times we had we'll have again
If your love is mine it will stand up
To the test of time, it will stand up
It looked like we were through,
But in our heart of hearts we knew
The good times we had we'll have again
And again
Now I know you'll always be my friend
Till the end
That means more to me than anything,
It's everything
Who needs yesterday - that's far behind us
And memories only may serve to remind us
That what felt good before
Today we'll treasure so much more
All the good times we had we'll have again

Made a desperate decision In the hours to come
190th post. Don't know how I should feel about that.
You know, I think a lot of old songs are so perfect, but so obscure. 'Let It Go' is this classic example precisely because everyone remembers the Bangles for songs like Walk Like An Egyptian and Manic Monday and Eternal Flame. I don't think those are really representative of anything, to say the least, no offense to anyone of course. There are all the hidden gems in the albums, like Live, Angels Don't Fall In Love, Following, Let It Go, Return Post, Complicated Girl, Waiting For You, Some Dreams Come True, Make A Play For Her Now, Mixed Messages, etc.
'Let It Go'! It's like, THE Bangles song because it was written purely by all four of them. It's the only one. There's this very interesting story behind it and it's such an awesome songs, really.
Another Crash Wisdom song, 'I Don't Want To Say Goodbye'.
Feel the wind blow through the trees
The rhythm of the sea
The things you meant to me
Love is just a photograph
I hold it in my hands
And I want you to come back
The time has come
And we can’t hold on any longer
And I feel so lost inside
As time goes on we will find an understanding
But I don’t want to say goodbye
Dreams, the whispering inside
The wisdom of a child
The struggle to survive
Now, another morning comes
The promise of the sun
Now I want to feel alive
The time has come
And we can’t hold on any longer
It’s a sadness I can’t fight
Time passes by and we will find an understanding
But I don’t want to say goodbye
I can’t let go
But I can’t hold on any longer
And it hurts so much inside
I know some day we will find an understanding
But I don’t want to say goodbye
No I don’t want to say goodbye
--------------------------
I suddenly feel very happy. And liberated. I think, I want to feel like this everyday. All the time. Where I can just stand there, and walk, and talk, and laugh, freely.
I want to learn how to play the ocarina! But an ocarina is really, really expensive so yeah. :/
I envy people who can do what they want, when they want. Because a lot of times you can't, because of certain constraints, e.g. money, time, permissions, talent, etc. For example, right now I really want to teach myself to play random Zelda OSTs, but I can't because I'm supposed to be revising. Even though I've already revised.
For the sake of adding randomness to this post, I'm going to say that companionship is even more touching than love. What is 'love'? I don't know, for me it's just two people professing to like each other a lot. Whatttttt. And to me companionship is more... silent, better shown through actions. Sometimes, the closeness of two individuals speaks more than people who 'love' each other. They may not love each other, but the idea of trusting one another with their lives is more worth treasuring. It's a measure of trust, between people who trust each other enough to keep all their secrets and everything. There's something very precious about that sort of trust.
Hooray for Legend of Zelda OSTs!
I just manually downloaded like thousands of songs, literally. I think the best soundtrack from Twilight Princess are, um, the File Select screen (which is common to all the games), Ordon Ranch, Boss Room Calm, Colin Hopes For Link and the Wolf Songs! Which are actually the previous songs but with wolf howls. Of course there are other awesome ones too! Like Enter the Temple of Time, Hyrule Field and Sacred Grove. The Spirits' Message and Gather the Tears of Light would be good if not for all the choir oohs. Oh and Renado's House sounds very pan-flute-y. The Inside a House track is a re-arrangement from The Minish Cap's House track, I think, because it sounds so similar. The Lake Hylia, Fishing Hole, Down the Rapids and Zora's Domain are all very peaceful-ish. Maybe because they're all water-related. For some reason, all the Ilia-related tracks (which I'm including Impaz in this description) are very music-box material and peaceful. Midna's Desperate Hour is very cool too because of the bass line and the fact that it's piano. But it's pretty depressing. Okay, I'm just a depressing person in general because I seem to like all those sad moody tracks. And the Link Takes the Master Sword one is the main Zelda theme, which is one of my favourite tracks. The Twilight is Restored is very wind-chime-ish. And it's possibly a re-arrangement (okay, almost definitely is) of To the Twilight Realm. I love how there's a track titled Zelda's Sacrifice, and another titled Midna's Sacrifice. And neither of them actually die, which is pretty surprising. Also, The Arrows of Light is in part, a rearrangement of the Select File screen. The best part is still End Credits (both 1 and 2) of course! Why are the best tracks always the credits! D: OKAY I THINK I WOULD MAKE A BAD SOUNDTRACK COMMENTATOR. I'm not going to spoil the tracks anymore by making bad comments (which is saying something, because I commented on almost half of the tracks).
Sigh why am I so random.
Oh and today! Wenxin walked over to me and went MOOOOOO. I turned to her and went MEHHHHHHHHH back. In a very lamb-bleat-y voice. And then she gave me the shocked fish look. I swear. I am too mean.
And I need to revise, even though I've revised like a million times already. Yes, I mean it.
OHGOD THIS PERSON IS CRAZYYYYYY. o_o This is like the awesomest piano playing I've ever heard, really.

Don't people make the strangest of mistakes?
He says he loves you
Can't you see it's true
I've been walking on ice
Sunbathing on the railway
Some day, some night
Somebody's gonna find me
I've gotten re-addicted to River City People! And Complicated Girl!
For some reason I can't seem to find the extended version of Walking On Ice on youtube and that really, really sucks. And I can't find/download (What's Wrong With) Dreaming? too.
GAH REVISE.

The What
Hello darkness my old friend. This is a blog. My blog.
The Who
Shermine.
A mostly depressed and disillusioned individual, but may be occasionally high (although that's pretty rare).
The Which
I shall hide the cbox because it's starting to annoy me very much.
