Oh, James, letting me down again, James

This week's passed in a haze.
I've been trying to do so many things, and live up to so many people's standards. And I think it's really annoying, not to mention disheartening, that even if I try really hard everyone thinks I didn't. Just because I don't appear to be paying attention normally in class doesn't mean I don't care about the subject. Sheesh, I can still remember some of the Chinese stuff lilaoshi taught us about, say, a month ago.
Well, I'm sorry if you find me really emotional, or irritating this week, I'm just really pissed. If you don't have the time to do something, don't volunteer to do it. Even if we dumped the job on you, you still have the responsibility to FINISH IT and not just say oh I'll finish it and never get it done. You could have told us. Or maybe skip some of your homework, I don't care.

Okay rant end.

I have been reading/borrowing really interesting/seemingly unrelated non-fiction books lately! And they are cool! :D

My sister touched a cockroach and now she's screaming and freaking out ._. And going on and on about how it's the first time in her life that she touched a cockroach, and I want to tell her to SHUT UP.
When it comes to cockroaches, my father is the only rational one. Which is kind of pathetic because my mother and my sister are scared, but at least my mother dares to get some insect killer to spray at it. And all my sister does is scream. And I dare to go near it, but not touch it. My sister screams at everything. Even moths. Or butterflies. Or even grasshoppers. OR MINI SPIDERS AND LIZARDS which is like the most extreme thing because she's like a million times larger than them.

Whatever.

My father is scolding me for no apparent reason other than the fact that he's pissed off. Which is most of the time.

Because I've abandoned my blog for about a week, I have so many things to blog about that I actually can't be bothered to. Ah well. :/ Anyway I really shouldn't be spending so much time on the computer, judging by my horrible math mark.

Chem SPA tomorrow. Wish me luck.

All the sins of the family fall on the daughter

ALLISON IS AN EMO MUSHROOM, quote Aisyah.

GRARLLLL. The stupid Nature Week thing is SO pissing off.
I have started swearing a lot since I've started working on it.
Seriously, if they want to find out, they can do the research themselves. Waste my ink.

And because I don't want to sound like an idiot who's just good at griping and haven't done any work, I have finished it. But it is finished in an unfinished way.
Phylum: ----
Class: ----
National Status: Unknown
References: Google.com

Smart right.
But it doesn't say 1) phylum, which somehow does not exist for the family Symplocaceae, 2) class, which also somehow does not exist for Symplocaceae, 3) national status, of which I could not find out even after going through 20 pages of Google search results.

You know what. I don't care.

I have started creating a batch of lyric icons! They are quite cool I think especially the Manic Monday one cos the colours are just. Cool.
And Hazy Shade Of Winter too!
It goes like "And the sky Is a hazy Shade of Winter".

If people's idea of a Susanna solo is Eternal Flame, then a Michael solo will be Following. Which is probably her idea of a solo anyway, since she wrote it by herself. And Debbi's will be something like Ask Me No Questions, I think. Vicki's are more... difficult to imagine as purely hers. But I'd say (her values are corrupted but she's open to change... okay, that was random) that it'd be something like

I like how the MV for Walking Down Your Street calls them "The Lovebeats" cos it's a very amusing name. Like "Love" and "The Beatles"!

OMG I THINK THE MV FOR WLAE IS PARTLY FROM ONE OF THE LIVE CONCERTS I HAVE ON MY PHONE! o_o It's the "Okay we'll do one more!" bit by Vicki I think.

Remember how we laughed and carry on

"Ahhh. I like this! Some people say that, uh, some people say that we're a pretty weird band, you know, everybody sings, everybody writes, everybody plays. Gets a little confusing sometimes, but when we do write, which is most of the time, we tend to write about subjects that are very personal to us. This next song is about my best friend - he was dating a girl at the time and he loved her. And I hated her! And I couldn't... I couldn't think of a way to say this to the guy so our first song we wrote together turned out to be about it, and it's called "Complicated Girl".

I am falling sick. I think, anyway. Okay, actually I am.

“This song is about when your guy is ripping out your heart (doing a hand movement like she would rip out her heart) throws it on the floor (doing a throw-heart-on-floor hand move) and jumps on it like this, (jumps up) and this! (jumps again)."
For Between The Two. It is an... interesting way of introducing a song, hahah.

Oral! It was okay-ish/easy-ish. I guess. But I think I screwed it up. Well, at least I didn't stammer/say uh. So, by my standards it was quite okay. I think I did enough eye contact but I faltered quite a lot. And I kind of dropped the eye contact thing at the end. And didn't/couldn't be bothered to enunciate properly. So oops there. D: (And and and SORRY JAL I ABANDONED YOU Ms Regina Lee told me to GET DOWN THE STAIRS I couldn't wait for you! D: Then I went to the café but I didn't see you at all so sorry! If you even see this in the first place that is.)

Ahahah if this post stretches on any longer I'm gonna start quoting more concert banter again and NO I SHAN'T DO THAT BECAUSE NO ONE WILL READ MY BLOG AGAIN but never mind hahah. And anyway it's really too rude for me to quote.

Here in my eyes is the comfort of a friend

Here in my eyes there's a passion with no end

Yesterday! ORA and Scrabble. :D

ORA was totally awesome. I loved the walk-a-jogathon cos we were the first to go and then it wasn't too hot. I think I ran it in about 10-15 minutes cos when I reached school the RJ people were just leaving school. And then Vivian gave me a WHY THE HECK ARE YOU SO FAST look and she said that too! Well, maybe not the heck part. But still! Okay anyway after that I went to buy bubble tea then go for my shift! Then halfway through my shift I ran out of bubble tea. Then suddenly some random people (WHO WERE SELLING BUBBLE TEA ELEVENTYONE!) came up to us and asked if we wanted bubble tea. Epic. Shan't elaborate. (: But I bet you know why I'm so happy! (ELEVENTYONETHOUSANDANDELEVENTYONE OHGOSH) :D :D :D :D Okay okay get off your high Shermine.
Oh you know we had no guys toilet in school so the school allocated the SQUASH COURT TOILETS to RI. All the RGS/RJ girls just died laughing there.

Scrabble! We were against Pioneer and Riverside and Unity IT WAS EPIC. We won 15-0 basically all the rounds. With a total spread of 2917.
Uh, it's okay Vivian, at least you still have a positive total spread.
THE BEST PART WAS THE CURRY PUFFS AND THE MUESLI. :D It was very nice! Gosh during Scrabble I don't believe my opponents at all. Seriously. They thought JU was a word and I think the Unity one asked me whether JU was a word or not (NO IT ISN'T) and obviously I wasn't going to say no, right?
I pulled off CU and UE too even though they obviously don't exist. I bet they didn't go through their two letter word lists. ANWYAY WE ALL WON WE WERE VERY HAPPY. WHEE YAY.

"Some people say that, uh, some people say that you have to be a certain age to understand this next song. I don't think understanding what love is has anything to do with how old or how young you are."
The commentary/concert banter for Something To Believe In in one of their last shows. Santa Clara '89 I think, and I can't be bothered to check. I think the guitar part for it is cool. It sounds so... unlike other Michael songs, though. I suspect cos of the people who wrote it. Still.

"...explained that [insertnamehere] was sent to a place where everyone was cruel to her. Everywhere she went, people told her lies and made promises for her that they eventually broke. [insertnamehere] ultimately travelled the road home, alone and tired. So tired, in fact, that when she reached the northern area of [insertplacehere], she gave up on her journey and settled into an abandoned redwood which had become her home for the last few years."

I hope whatever that you're doing now no one's gonna lie and break their promises to you. I think this entirely fictional piece of work was actually rather true, you know, as in the scenario and everything is very... apt. That is totally not just "loosely based off" a biography. That is the exact thing that happened. If you replaced the [insertname/placehere] parts with the correct nouns then it would be a summary of all that had happened.

The italicized parts are... from a source that I'm not intending on naming. Anyhow, I'm not gonna elaborate. The only reason why I use [insertname/placehere] is cos that just seemed to fit the situation. And don't ask what the situation is.

All the good times we had, we'll have it again, and again

I think this is rather amusing!
Susanna's favourite song is Here Right Now. (Debbi on vocals.)
Debbi's is Between The Two. (Michael on vocals.)
Vicki's is I Will Take Care Of You. (Susanna on vocals.)
Michael's is Stealing Rosemary. (Debbi/Vicki on vocals.)
Annette's is Ride the Ride. (Shared vocals!)
Very amusing indeed.

On the other hand, I've added a funky uplifting song to my playlist! Good Times by the Hoodoo Gurus! It's a nice mid-tempo song with a really upbeat tune. Oh my gosh. After listening to it like about fifty times I just realized it has the Bangles on backing vocals. o_o I never knew. I was wondering why the backing vocals sound so... not Hoodoo Gurus and really female. Then I went to wiki it and. You get the idea.
Good Times -- Hoodoo Gurus (featuring the Bangles)!

Okay set-up today.
ORA and Walk-A-Jogathon and Scrabble tomorrow wish me luck!
Wheeee.

Maybe we're just dreamers, some dreams come true

Oookay. I find this a bit creepy. Shan't elaborate, though.

IT'S HISTORY AND CHINESE TOMORROW.
My two worst subjects ahhhhh. D:

I think wars defy all logic and reasoning. Seriously. If, in normal circumstances, you kill someone, you are a murderer. If you kill someone in a war you are a hero. And et cetera.

WARNING: RANDOM MUSIC COMMENTS:
NOT LIKE YOU! 8D I like the bass on it! As I have already mentioned the bass is playing way more notes than the guitar! Which is cool. The guitar intro of Complicated Girl, as I have mentioned about a million and one times or probably more before, is really cool. The way it interacts with the bass, I mean. Also the instrumental is somewhat louder than normal, most other songs don't exactly have a very loud instrumental and they focus more on the voice. And the bass of Song For A Good Son is interesting in the way it sort of goes in and out of the mix and kind of pushes the song forwards.

Wake up and stumble, trip and fall

Okay, IMT today. AHHHH.
And because it's already ten plus now, I will continue this post tomorrow. It's just to remind me to blog about this. My elbows hurt.

Okay, continue post.(:
IMT was pretty cool. But the rifle was super super heavy and the sandbag was so irritating! D:
I got 13/16. Which I was actually kind of ARGH-ish at first because the top 1/6th percent is from 13 and 1/3 onwards! D: But never mind, I still got my marksmanship. (: Good job to all the four other people who got it too whee.(:
At least we've done airbatch4 justice. It's 1/4 of our platoon!

Anyway the practice round what I think was super strange was that all five of us didn't hit a single shot during practice but then somehow during the actual thing can get 4/4 hits. Whoa.
Heheh without the sandbag I sort of cheated I rested the magazine on the ground whoops. :P But luckily never get IA teehee. (:
And you know right the butt of the rifle supposed to be at the hollow part of your shoulder so I put it there and then I couldn't see through the scope then I adjusted and squirmed a lot before I could see through the scope. And then. I realized I was aiming too high. So I squirmed a lot again and then it was too low. Stupid sandbag. And then I had to end up putting the rifle butt at my shoulder blade I tell you it feels damn bruised from the recoil. But Vivian even worse ahaha she had to put against her jaw bone.
So for the rounds with the sandbag I got 6/8. And without the sandbag I got 7/8 which is better! And then I had to twist my upper body to the left in order to see the target through the scope my back is aching like mad now. And then my left arm muscles are like trembling and super painful. And my left shoulder is like. Dead. When I turn my head it hurts like shit. When I don't turn it hurts like shit too. Basically, it just hurts, take my word for it.

Shit tomorrow got PE I don't think I can do PE like this?! And then warm-ups turn head to left I'm gonna die like some crazy shit.

------------------------

Ah you remember the Straits Times article by that Sandra person. That is so idiotic. I mean, what kind of conclusion is that?! (I used to be a Rafflesian, I am proud of it, yet I am sad to say that means that I was once elitist.) What the shit?! Wanting to be among the elite is totally not being elitist? Yeah, just because she used to be an elitist, and she couldn't be bothered to see beyond her world, doesn't mean that everyone else does. Sheesh. Just because she didn't have any neighbourhood school friends, doesn't mean that we don't.
And, most of all, JUST BECAUSE YOU HAPPEN(ED) TO BE ELITIST WHEN YOU CAME TO RGS DOES NOT MEAN THAT EVERY OTHER RGS GIRL IS ELITIST. That is like, at least two logical fallacies come immediately to mind. Hasty generalizations and temporal succession. How is being elitist even related to being an RGS girl. It's totally different.
And also, the fourth and last response that Mrs Hoo showed us, also by an RGS girl, said something about how she never used to eat in hawker centers or whatever before she went to China. Look, seriously, just because YOU have the money to eat at a restaurant every single freaking time you go out doesn't mean that everyone else does. It also doesn't mean that every single other RGS girl is rich like you are/were.
I also think that it's retarded that anyone, at all, would have to drop their English standards to fit in. Hello, you can fit in by just eliminating that elitist attitude of yours without giving up your standards?! No one forced anyone else to lower their personal standards.
"Lastly, these students should not be expected to apologise for wanting to excel and there is no need to drop 'proper English' just to fit in. They have a long way to go, and learning is a lifelong journey." EXACTLY RIGHT. What is wrong with wanting to be better? Just because we want to keep in the competition and try to be the best among our peers doesn't mean that there's something wrong with us, or that we look down on other people while doing this. Those two factors aren't even related.
In the first place, being an elite does not equate to be an elitist. Also, being an elite does not mean that you're rich and you're blind to the other types of lifestyles others lead.
"Most of us live in landed property, condominiums or minimally, executive condos or five-room flats. None of us talks about making ends meet, or how we must turn down medical treatment for our aged parents because we cannot find the money." What the shit? Just because you're rich, your friends are rich, doesn't mean that every single RGS girl is rich. Why do you think the FAS even exists?

Oh my gosh you know what? I want to convert the above rant into a letter to the Straits Times because I am that pissed.

Heaven has a place for those who pray

Finally realized how awesome iSpace actually was. :D One day delayed reaction huh.
Brief overview of task: Accompany primary school kids around iSpace exhibit in Science Centre. And of course, we get to have certain benefits too! :D Like free entry for the day. And Up in 3D only because of some... lack in 3D glasses they're gonna re-schedule it for the facils. On with it.

Okay, so we went there at 7.30. Then briefing till around 8.15, I think. Then at 8.30 the people were all filing in.
I need to get this straight first. My co-facils were Tessa, Joel, and Jarrold! Which is very amusing but I shall not explain why.

So Jarrold and I took the first "shift" to direct Group J people to our row. Then, Tessa and Joel took them for breakfast. A next wave of people came in then. o_o So we waited and waited and waited and finally they came back, so Tessa took over from me and Joel from Jarrold then we went for breakfast. All the nuggets were gone by then. D: But the food was nice.
Then we had a long one-hour-and-slightly-past talk. I did my 剪报 then :P Anyway.

After that we had games. Then when we did headcount, we finally realized 3 people were absent. 21/24. Okay games was pretty fail. We tried to play splat and the facils and ambassadors all just stuck together so that was pretty strange. Because it was in this order: Jarrold on the extreme left, Joel, Tessa, then me on the right. And Hiu Tung was standing out of the game and laughing at us with the other ambassadors. So it was just a major cheating session, because the four of us were cheating in broad daylight. :P
So we switched to Blow Wind Blow which everyone knew, except for Jarrold. So Joel and Tessa were trying to teach him how to play and it ended up as super fail. After that was the actual iSpace thing and it was super rushed cos we were late and everything. Then lunch.

Lunch was epic. It was a really long queue and everything so the queue started from the Annexe. Then Jarrold was like, "Which dumbass thought of that stupid idea?!" and the three of us were like, "Jarrold, we're supposed to be moderators. Not swear in front of them." Then after lunch it was supposed to be Up, but there weren't enough 3D glasses! ö Eleventyone! So everyone got to watch except for all the facils. So the seven of us split up and Michelle, Tamisha and I went to gallivant around iSpace and I shan't elaborate we just took a lot of pictures. My photography skills are awesome. After that we went to MacDonalds they had the 12 to 3 offer so we ate at around 2 to 2.30 and then chionged back to the Annexe.

Apparently Aisyah and Allison and Kimberly and Yen Siang went to MacDonalds first and et cetera
We watched the last fifteen minutes of Up (without the 3D glasses, hmph) and then the primary school kiddies were dismissed and we had debrief and a photo at iSpace with all the facils.

Okay, IMT tomorrow. I am super scared cos it's counted for the BUC and I have no confidence cos I HAVE NEVER WORKED WITH THE M16 BEFORE I have no idea how it works. Totally. So platoonmates, I am more freaked out than you. And then there's like Chinese and History on Monday and those are like my two weakest subjects I'm gonna die. Sheesh, how can some people (like my sister) complain about "how stressful life is".

Wish us luck. IMT's gonna kill our platoon.

El Pollo Loco

About a month ago Freddy and I were on our way to see the Crawdaddies. They were playing somewhere downtown. And we stopped for Mexican food at this place called El Pollo Loco. Well right after we pulled up, parked and headed for the door, out of nowhere, like he drops from the sky or something, this little bum was standin' in front of us, real drunk, talking in slurred Spanish. He was saying he was hungry. Freddy looked at the guy for a moment, and then, because he's Freddy, said 'Ok fella, come with us--We'll get you something to eat'. And then he turned to me and said 'This oughta be interesting'.

The little guy followed us into the joint, lookin' a little scared, and holding a shopping bag. Fred went off to place the order, and the bum and me went and sat down at a table nearby and kinda stared at each other. He seemed upset. His eyes looked all watery and weird, and then he started talking to me, in near-perfect English. 'I'm a good man,' he said, 'I just drink too much, you know'. By the time Fred got to the table with the food, this guy was uh, holding his head in his hands. He looked up and thanked us, but he wouldn't eat. He just stared at the food. Fred tried to lighten things up and asked him to talk about himself. He said;

'My name is Hernan. I'm a good man, I just drink too much. I had a girlfriend, but she won't see me anymore. I lost my job, and my mother won't let me live at home. She brings me food, but she won't let me go home. I'm from San Salvador, they threw me out of the country. They tortured me. Here, I'll show you.' Then he stood and undid his shirt, and opened it up, and Fred was saying 'No, please man', and somebody had cut him, very carefully, straight cut lines--lots of em, across his stomach. And there were cuts on his arms, and cigarette burns. And then he sat back down and said:

'I'm a good man'.

I think I've been listening to too depressing stuff recently. Gosh. MRS ROBINSON GET OUT OF MY HEAD AND STOP MESSING IT UP.

One more dream, to remind you

That's it.

It's over.

It's not gonna be like the way it was before anytime soon, I think. I wish time would stop and maybe it would all have stayed the same. I don't care if what you think of me has changed. I don't care if what I think of you has changed, too, because what you think of me has changed. And no, I don't care if you don't get it.

I'm gonna let it go. Soon. You'll never know how I'll feel. It's different. I thought our friendship would never change. Now I know better. It won't be the same anymore, even if you want it to be (you don't), I won't be the same person you know. Give it up.

Okay now on to the actual post. (You mean that wasn't a post, you scream.)
Sorry I couldn't resist that. The bracketed stuff, I mean.
Sandy Denny! North Star Grassman and the Ravens, Crazy Lady Blues, and Late November!
Kindred Spirit! Debbi Peterson and Siobhan Maher! Here In My Eyes is such a ballad-ish song. And of course Ask Me No Questions. Actually, looking at the kind of songs Debbi sings out of the Bangles, she seems the sort who like ballads rather than glam rock. Or maybe I'm wrong.
And of course, Crash Wisdom! The best of the best. :D No need to elaborate further.

o_o Seriously? Susanna Hoffs said the Atomic Kittens were "adorable"?! No way I don't believe it.

Okay. On Monday we'll have IMT. Uck. We'll need to come up with an idea for Fish and Chips.

There's a bug flying around the room. Well, there was, anyway.

Simon and Garfunkel! Mrs Robinson just played on the radio. o_o
And here's to you, Mrs Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know
God bless you please, Mrs Robinson
Heaven has a place for those who pray

Scarborough fair is so scaryyyyy. Seriously. Blazing in scarlet battalions. Soldiers fight for a cause long forgotten. Generals order their soldiers to kill. (!)

... Today is the least tired I've felt this entire week yay!

Look at my totally "inspirational" playlist:
The Bangles
The Beatles
The Bee Gees
Madonna
Simon and Garfunkel
Reo Speedwagon
The Carpenters
Gilbert O'Sullivan
... And et cetera.

Oh, I believe in yesterday

And of course, the pedo (or so she says) look that Phyllis just can't stand. Seriously, how are her eyes pedo?! Phyllis! D: I WILL EDIT THIS POST TOMORROW. BYE.

Okay start edit. (:
I suddenly find myself listening to random Beatles' songs, starting from, um, I-don't-know to Yesterday. Yesterday is an awesome song! Oedipus Rex! I want to read that book. Okay I shall stop(:

I love yesterday (LOL)! It was pretty fun. I LOVE PT I REALLY DO. We ran first! And then it was raining it was totally awesome(: Not too sunny, and it was indoors. PT is awesome. I love PT. AAR was... strange. And that's totally the reason why I don't go to the cinema?! I bet you never knew I was scared of lifts especially cramped ones. AND TO ADD ON TO THAT. I hate hugs. Thank you. I really appreciate the thought but... I would rather people not hug me, you know?

... I am having an utterly... random conversation with Yen Siang. Or, was.
|| shermine says:
yensiang!
Why are you looking at me?!
yensiang says:
What.
|| shermine says:
I'm scared D:
yensiang says:
BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS DON'T BRING FORMS!!!!!!!!!
|| shermine says:
... Well.
Not always! D:
yensiang says:
Orly.
|| shermine says:
Yes.
Ya rly.
yensiang says:
D: D:
|| shermine says:
?
You are... strange!
yensiang says:
I am not! D:
|| shermine says:
You are... upset!
yensiang says:

This lovely mess she's made of you

Woah I managed to transcribe the tune of Complicated Girl as a piano version it sounds strange but cool. But because it's all on piano it sounds pretty strange and I can't mute one hand it kind of sucks like that. But otherwise! It is cool!
Not bad, anyway, considering that I tried to find it online and there are none. I like how it runs from like [C C^ B C^ A C^ G C^ F C^ E C C D E E C C^ G C C^ G C C^ G C A G] et cetera. It sounds very cool. But I just can't figure out the bridge. And then the riff of Hazy Shade Of Winter! I want to transcribe it as a piano version too.

virtualpiano.net is very cool!

To those people who do not know why I said sergeant major master it was because I was answering Tina. D: Sergeant major as in Sophia. Master as in Tina. New rank indeed.

[/edit: I think being a student facilitator will be interesting! ...But it's with P5 and 6, uhm, people, so I don't really know?]

Trying to smile with a hole in my heart

I AM SO SORRY PLATOONMATES.
Forgive me.

Oh my gosh I feel so guilty. :/

I'm honestly sorry platoonmates it was all my fault we did hentak yesterday.
I was timer then I didn't hear Zhi Ru telling us to hormat and then I continues timing and then they asked us to hentak. Ohgoshhhh. That's why the timing was so screwed AHHHHHHH. And then we had to hentak and it's all my fault for timing too fast and not making sure that everyone was on the same foot before starting hentak cheer. D:
Our drills are really not good at all.

Wait, one more question.
Do I time loud enough?

CRAZY GUILT OVERLOAD.

No one knows I'm falling apart
