Like a wave you keep pulling me under

How I'll ever get out of this I don't know
I just know that there's no way to fight it

I think I have found a topic to blog about!
Because I was suddenly reminded of it while thinking about trainfire and our game of truth or dare on the way back, and because we can't do dares on the bus, we just asked each other, uhm, insightful (?) questions. And I remember asking Priya about whether she believed in destiny.

Then when I went home and thought about it, I found it quite strange that I believed in true judgement (which I guess would be better... thought of as Ma'at, which is basically the Egyptian concept of truth, justice, and balance. Go read more if you want to know) and yet believed in fate and destiny. Which actually is quite contradictory, if you think about it, because in Egyptian mythology, Ma'at is the goddess of justice, truth, harmony and balance. It's also a concept. Confusing much? Also, after death, a person gets judged by Anubis who weighs the person's heart against the feather of Ma'at, and that determines whether the person gets to pass on to the afterlife or has their soul eaten by Ammit (or Ammut, whatever) the devourer. Anyway, I do feel the need to justify myself, even if no one reading this actually cares, but still.

Because, you see, I think destiny is something that you cannot change. It is what lies in store for us at the end and you can have a road set for you. You can choose to take that road, but there're many other pathways and you can choose to take those pathways. And that, is what Ma'at judges you for at the end. The path you take, and the choices you make on that journey. As for fate? I don't know, really. To me, fate is like... wait, I don't know, let me try to think of a way to phrase this. Uhm. It's like the paths that are made available to you. (Yes, those are the words I was looking for!) Destiny gives you an end. Fate gives you the means to reach that end. Destiny gives you a goal, or an end, and fate makes only some options available to you. And the choices you make on that journey, the choices that fate gives you, decided how you will be judged. Which is Ma'at.

Which basically means that I have justified myself, even though it was totally unnecessary. But I have a new blog post, so yay.

Also, on Friday on my way home, ruitong called me when I was about five minutes away from home and told me there was Freestyle. And I totally died on the bus. Yes.

I also find Egyptian, Norse, and Greek mythology perfectly interesting and entertaining, but people are going to give me weird looks for this. Also, mythology is perfectly fascinating. It tells you a lot about culture. Okay, damn, I can't find the term to describe what I was looking for but once I find it again I'll trash it in somewhere I promise. Cultural arts are fascinating. Oh, and I remember hearing Yambe-Akka (who is part of Finnish mythology!) before but I don't remember where! OHNOES. Also, I just realized that the terms 'hermaphrodite' comes from Greek mythology, or more specifically, Hermaphroditus, the son of Hermes and Aphrodite (and he has such and original name, really), who got jumped by a nymph and after some time, merged. So now they're both male and female, which is kind of creepy and strange if you think about it.

AND YES I FOUND THE TERM IT'S HENOTHEISM. I think the concept of a monotheistic society is strange, because most of the time within a society you can have different religions, and even if every one was of the same religion there may not be only one god. Or even if there is only one, the god may have different personalities, consciousness, and different consciousness suggest different people. Or in this case, gods. Of course, there are monotheistic religions, such as Judaism, but you know most religions have more. So there.

I get restless, over anxious, lose control, oh

My head is stuffed with weird freestyle things especially the arm movements.

Seriously, I go around the house muttering "right left cut right daat cut hormat cut" and "daat point cut hormat cut" and weird things like that because JEEZ I'M TRYING TO MEMORIZE EVERYTHING!!

Sometimes I just feel so old and worn-out and I think the right word should just be jaded.

...

And that totally reminds me of FSD like how we spammed ripple lines and everything. And gosh basically our weird diamond/cross formation that we wanted to rotate and yeah, basically everything. Also how we slacked under the shade while all the other groups were practicing and I guess the thing the I remember best is like LEFT FLANK AND RIGHT FLANK UGHHH. I miss FSD and our team's awesome marching (YAY STANDARDIZED) and even the sunburn, haha. I RECALL WE PUT SUNBLOCK AFTER WE GOT SUNBURNT. And the brand was Chanel. And the day before yoonshan told me that I had the same bag as Chanel.

Still the strangest thing is why I have a smiley face beside my name on the envelope with my certificate in it, and I'm still trying to figure that out. Apparently they said I-can't-remember-who wrote it and I'm like wtf why did they put a smiley face beside my name?

Also I am still tanned from the sunburn I got TWO MONTHS AGO, if that makes any sense at all.

P.S. I signed up for inconversation! I think it will be cool, :D.
P.P.S. OMFG YOU MEAN THE WORD LIMIT IS ONLY 1000?! I THINK I WILL DIE TRYING TO CUT DOWN AFTER WRITING IT.

Turning and returning to some secret place inside

Screw you.

No, really, Screw you very, very, much. I shan't explain here, but there's something I'm really annoyed about right now, and jeez, the person I'm addressing this to had better watch out. Because if you're actually going to do something that will end up like this again, I am personally going to make sure that I murder you. And yes, I meant that.

... And this is the reason why I never ever continue what I write. Because I have no motivation to. And also because I have about seven stories somewhere that I can't be bothered to type out, so I keep on working on one then switching to the other, which is why after six months I still haven't updated yet, D:.

And gosh SPAM RIPPLE LINE :D.

Also, the other day I was talking to this guy on Omegle about programming and web designing. And this other person about current affairs/geography. There was also one person who was talking about Math (Algebra, or more specifically, quadratic equations), and another who was talking to me about games.

And then Allison and I found each other and. SHE. CLOSED. THE. WINDOW.

I almost killed her in my head. I was playing out scenarios including strangulation.
Circle in the sand
'Round and 'round
Never ending love is what we've found
And you complete the heart of me
Our love is all we need
Circle in the sand

Edit: Have I already mentioned that it's amusing that only Harry Potter, Pokemon, and Yu-gi-oh have shipping names? And even then Harry Potter has crappy names, because seriously, no one is going to like something called 'pumpkinshipping'. Seriously. I mean, even Apocalypshipping is better than that.

Edit2: HAPPY POTTY. HAHA. Also, don't you think Pegasus would be the winking sort? But it's difficult to wink with only one eye, isn't it, since it would look like blinking.

THAR.

Shermine Ho says
Yesh.
At least pokemon/yugioh has cooler names.
or maybe I'm just anti-harrypotter
I almost typed happy potter.

allison says
LMAO
HAPPY POTTER.

Shermine Ho says
I KNOW.
Like
happy potty.

allison says
LMAO
HAPPY POTTER.
POTTY
POTTY
POTTY
HAHAHA

Shermine Ho says
I KNOW.
Like
imagine
someone shouting
I JUST WATCHED HAPPY POTTY
I would die laughing.

allison says
HAPPY POTTY
HAHAHAH

Shermine Ho says
HAHA

Everytime you leave me a part of me goes too

And half your world is waiting here for you

Did you know, I was playing Breath of Fire II. And then I just reached the part where you can get Bleu by finding the small and very faint circle in the desert where some random blue ghosts or something will tell you that she's not there, then you go to HomeTown to M.School to find her and recruit her. And anyway, when I reached that part, my phone playlist (which is on shuffle) started playing Circle in the Sand by Belinda Carlisle. Which is like. Wow.

I don't have anything to blog about? And how am I supposed to write my 私涵 about OBS when I didn't even go for it? It makes no sense. UGH.

My entire playlist is spammed with ABBA, Bangles, Belinda Carlisle, Carpenters, Celine Dion, Cyndi Lauper, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Gloria Estefan and Soft Cell songs. Which is kind of strange, jeez.

Tears on my pillow Wherever you go

Level 45 Chinchou OHKOed a Level 45 Graveler. o_o With water gun.

I won't blog too much nowadays, because there's really nothing to talk about, unless we're on the topic of whether or not crying is courageous, because I really don't think it is.

And this, is the thing that's stuck in my head. ): It's in cantonese! Not chinese! It would sound weird in chinese, actually, especially the _______ parts (there, does that clarify it?).

GAHHHHHH. There is seriously something wrong with me I swear, because really, WTH really old theme songs?

Anyway. Today was CCAO. It was. Strange. We went around the place and then during my NCC shift there was this really nice girl who was asking a lot of questions! Which just proves that she was listening to me, :D. And the girl on the bus (I really can't remember her name OOPS) who wanted to join a UG so xiaoyun and joan and I were trying to persuade her to join NCC air/RCY. But yeah it was nice(:. She lives at choa chu kang apparently, kind of reminds me of that incident *AHEM* on the bus, but you probably don't know what I'm referring to.

来日纵是千千阙歌 飘于远方我路上

来日纵是千千晚星
亮过今晚月亮
都比不起这宵美丽
亦绝不可使我更欣赏
因你今晚共我唱

230!
Geesh, I think there is something really wrong with me, because I have (finally been) resorted to TVB theme songs, of all things. Or else I'd be listening to Priscilla Chan (千千阙歌)/Hacken Lee (誰願放手, I do realize this is in 繁体), which I'm sure some people will know and some won't, but hell yeah.

And as if that isn't bad enough, I'm listening to themes from 2002. Yes, 再生缘. Of all things.

First episode is ridiculously hilarious, because Michelle swaps roles with Tavia/Rain by doing the servant's work and Tavia and Rain help her read the texts.

Screw my life.

NPLU is officially my favourite pokemon site, because seriously, who cares about Pikachu when you can have Persian, or Parasect? Or Raticate, and Furret? Don't trash the first or second pokemon you caught because it's common, or because you can't be bothered to train it, because those are really good. Heck, Raticate helped me in the Elite Four. Especially against Lorelei's Lapras. Why is Dewgong never used? It gets Ice Beam and Rest without TMs, and sometimes the dual type advantage is rather useful. And it gets Hydration, which is awesome with a Rest Rain Dance combo. And why do people pick Diglett/Dugtrio over Cubone/Marowak? Is it because they have better speed, feh. Speed isn't everything. And heck, I know that.

[edit: Good grief, 40:30 of the seventh episode of Links To Temptation has got to be the most epic thing ever. I swear.]

Love and sensation beckoning to me, darling

Such a temptation following with me, baby

HOMG I saw this picture and I started laughing like an idiot in front of the computer. But really, goldmine shpping is such an apt name, because after all, it is Giovanni x Roark. Although that is just strange/disturbing.

Anyway! I finished Ghost Writer and Wars of In-Laws. Again. Yes, I am just weird that way. Also, I am now starting on Links to Temptation and Stew of Life. Stew of Life is so amusing, because, well, nothing can't not ever be amusing with Christine, Louise, and Fala. But heck. (Christine's role is hilarious in the show.)

I was thinking about other things that I should like to say out but perhaps I shouldn't, because there are some things that shouldn't be said, after all.

[edit: As a side note, anime martial arts is pure crap.]

Wishing you were here by me To end this misery

I love the feeling of New Year's Eve. It's like the whole world just stops and holds it's breath. And counts, and waits. And tries to make those few moments before the day ends count, and try to think of new and unfinished resolutions.

But you realize, it's actually just one day in a year. And then those few moments before the day ends pass, and everyone around you is jubilantly shouting "Happy new year!" and running around hugging each other. And for a few moments you see the sight of people being so excited around you, and you smile. Then after those precious few seconds you try to feel the joy that these people are feeling. And then you realize, it's nothing, really. You don't feel anything different from staying up all night until the clock strikes twelve, only that there are more people to celebrate it with you.

Is the New Year really such a special event after all? And everyone thinks that the New Year is going to be better, but it's just the same. Everyone just continues living their live the same way, just that it's another day. Of another year, so what's so unique? What's so special about it?

You don't make the years count, because they're nothing special. You make the days count.

Enough of that. I'm not going to post my dedications and resolutions up here, because I think they look better on my notebook. Also because I am just too lazy to type them out.

[edit: I love how the themesong for Links To Temptation totally does not fit the themevideo. Imagine scenes of people following and stalking and killing and slapping etc. each other and YET imagine someone singing this random light-hearted jazzy tune. But it does become kind of endearing after a while, though.]
