And what else may we do? We don't say, goodbye
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear
Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near
Someday you'll say that word and I will cry
It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
'Till we meet again...
Until then...
Goodbye
Immortality and Goodbye's (the saddest word), Celine Dion.
You know how I revise (and hey it works)! I listen to a particular piece of music. Say, the sound track for Lost Woods from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and then I revise while playing it on loop. And then my brain automatically links it to what I'm studying. So spent the entire Lit exam humming Lost Woods under my breath and it's such a... brain-sticker (hahah).
Also! When I grow older and have my own credit card (which is going to be a really long time sigh) I'm going to order clay from overseas and buy a small kiln and make things! Like... ocarinas. Even though they're actually cheaper to buy than to make, so it seems. But you never know! And apparently a lot of ocarinas out there aren't all that good, so yeah! I want to make my own. ):
I realize I've been searching a lot of random stuff recently. Like how to pick locks, and make ocarinas and whistles. And Legend of Zelda music scores. And, uh, you know what I mean. Stuff like that.
Gosh I never knew Siobhan Maher was married to Dave Snell. And, uh, seriously, she married Ray Kennedy?
And also, I realized a lot of the stuff I listen to are related in the strangest of ways. Like... Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. And I noticed everyone in the eighties knows each other either directly or not, which is quite amusing. So now we can totally play Six (well, maybe not
six, but you know what I mean) Degrees of Separation! Like, um, Pal Shazar and The Everly Brothers! Pal Shazar -> Slow Children -> Michael Steele -> The Bangles -> Manic Monday -> Prince -> The Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame -> The Everly Brothers.
Or Pal Shazar -> Slow Children -> Michael Steele -> The Bangles -> Walking Down Your Street -> Little Richard -> The Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame (23 January 1986) -> The Everly Brothers.
AND OHGOSH I JUST LOOKED THROUGH THE LIST OF THE ROCK'N'ROLL HALL OF FAME AGAIN AND DICK CLARK AND LEO FENDER ARE LISTED :O
And Prince's son would have been one day younger than me had he lived. :/
And gosh Prince played electric guitar on Like A Prayer?
Ohgosh, I just heard that Tony Peluso died on the 5th of June this year. Goodbye to one of the best guitarists the world has ever seen.
And Karen Carpenter.
And George Harrison.
And... you know what I mean, I can't be bothered to list anymore.
Our hearts were filled with music and laughter,
Your voice will be the sweetest sound I'll ever hear and yet,
We knew somehow the song would never end,
When time was all we had to spend
- When Time Was All We Had, the Capenters
Okay stop all that stuff about sad and unhappy things!
You told me goodbye and I believed you
Felt like I would die - I didn't need to
'Cos you came back to me
And everything's like it used to be
All the good times we had we'll have again
If your love is mine it will stand up
To the test of time, it will stand up
It looked like we were through,
But in our heart of hearts we knew
The good times we had we'll have again
And again
Now I know you'll always be my friend
Till the end
That means more to me than anything,
It's everything
Who needs yesterday - that's far behind us
And memories only may serve to remind us
That what felt good before
Today we'll treasure so much more
All the good times we had we'll have again
