She wore bangles, she wore bells
Rewatching all Bangles videos on youtube (because, you know, 2nd June) and going absolutely nuts at every Michael classic moment. And making little eeps at rhythm moments. And basically just being rather
not what I'm normally like, yes. Like when rhythm grooves more than guitars, that feel.
...don't judge, everyone has their favourite Bangle and mine happens to be Michael... and I have an incredibly soft spot for Debbi.
Meh, need to calm down.
And of course, strange references: Kohoutek, Behind the Wall of Sleep, etc. How surprisingly appropriate.
Got some new (or maybe old, haha) stuff to listen to as well: She Sells Sanctuary, Never Never Land (Todd Rundgren's version), All Together Now, Dandelion, Mr Soul, Bluebird, Walk Away Renee, The Crystal Ship, etc. And as for bands, nothing new, just playing catch-up by what, fifty years?
Well, the usual stuff. Got new picks, gotta try playing with picks now. Or at least, after A levels. Which are in November (which I suspect will be a terrible month).
Also, rewatching Charade, Breakfast at Tiffany's, How to Steal a Million, The Way We Were, This is Spinal Tap and of course, Less Than Zero. Some good stuff there.
Giosuè Carducci
Tedio Invernale
Ma ci fu dunque un giorno
su questa, terra il sole?
Ci fùr rose e viole,
luce, sorriso, ardor?
Ma ci fu dunque un giorno
la dolce giovinezza
la gloria e la bellezza
fede, virtude, amor?
Ciò forse avvenne ai tempi
d'Omero e di Valmichi,
ma quei son tempi antichi,
il sole or non è più.
E questa ov'io m'avvolgo
nebbia di verno immondo
è cenere d'un mondo
che forse un giorno fu.
I love this poem.
